February 12, 2007 Dear Pastor and Church!
It is a blessing to report to you some of the exciting things that have happened to us since the last month. 30 years ago on the 10th of February 1977 we landed for the very first time in Germany. We came with out two sweet kids, 6 and 12 years old. They since then they have gotten married, live in USA, and are serving our great God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Those were exciting days then and still are today. Praise the Lord we learned so many interesting things about Germany and its people. We have learned a little of the great problems Germans have in accepting Christ Jesus as their Saviour in this "Christian" nation. We have seen many people from different nationalities that got saved and baptized over of all these years. It would be great to have all of them here together; however we will wait till we all get to heaven for that exciting reunion, 'all because of Calvary!' Since we are working with street ministry to reach people, we sure have met people from all walks of life. Every one seems to be looking for something, however in talking too many of them (those that you could); we have discovered they themselves do not know what they want. It reminds me of our wonderful Saviour who said from the cross: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). We of course KNOW what they need! They need Christ Jesus the only Saviour of the world (I John 4:42). Others again have come to know Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour and are faithfully coming to our Sunday service. It has been a great privilege and blessing to be used by God in this needy place. To others again, our two churches here in Munich, have become a Heaven of Rest. Thai Gan and family are just one of those. He said: "We thank the Lord for pastor & Sandy and Bible Baptist Church, for their consistent prayers for me and family. They were there when we needed someone!" Brother Thai and family are actually Chinese. He and his family are fine Christians. He is a university professor in Canada (see picture). Here is the amazing thing! We are still the only two independent Baptist churches in this town of over two million souls, one to Germans and one to English-speaking people. We have 286 different nationalities in Munich. Just Saturday I met John G. from Houston, TX. The Spirit of God moved him to visit our English service Sunday morning. His testimony was a real blessing to our people. Now we have 5 more prayer warriors praying for this great town. Our prayers to the LORD are to send an awakening. Our German people’s testimony would be: "where would we attend the house of God if…?" Well the Lord is still in the business to save, to send, to sustain, to supervise, and to send more workers into His harvest. THANK you for your part in this work here. Please continue to pray for these to be saved: Herr & Frau Danninger (our landlord), Tilly, Michael's family, Karl's relatives in Sweden and his wife, Edwin's wife, Dieter's wife, Loesch family, and Pat B husband and three children. We want to thank you for your faithful prayers and finances over all these many years. Some of you have supported us 30 years plus. We praise the LORD for your faithfulness to HIM and to us. What a blessing to have faithful people like you to hold the ropes. Pray for many more doors to be opened and that the two churches will continue to grow to evangelise their own people.
